Modified Bitumen
Modified Bitumen is one of the most trusted flat roofing systems used in the industry today.
Modified Bitumen flat roofing is an asphalt-based roofing system designed for flat and low-slope roofs.
Synthetic polymers are added to create elasticity especially in cold temperatures. It has numerous surface options and colours. It has proven record of performance and waterproofing.
Modified Bitumen can be applied hot, with a torched cap application or as a self adhering peel and stick (flameless) application.
The frame work for Modified Bitumen is a five-layer combination of roofing components:
- Insulation – Used to provide thermal resistance for temperature stability of the roof system
- Modified Base
- Modified Bitumen Membranes – Factory fabricated sheet membrane composed of copolymer reinforced with polyester or fiberglass
- Adhesive – Waterproofing material with a bonding agent applied either hot or cold
- Surfacing – Provides UV protection and weather resistance

It is durable enough to stand up to the most extreme Canadian weather, a Modified Bitumen is also fire resistant.
